Hello!
Below is a video of my speech on the day of my declaration. In order to be
effective my speech was given in my local dialect, but the BIG IDEA is that
my people need a leader that has them at heart.

Change is one phenomenon that mankind has wrestled with even to eternity. The phenomenal change sweeping through Akwa Ibom State, midwifed by the Administration of Obong (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio needs to be replicated in uruan by those who believe in change.
For effective change administration in Uruan, I as chairman, shall be commited to ensuring a peaceful and secured Uruan community where extreme hunger and abject poverty are
eradicated, where the vunerable in society (women, children and the aged) are protected, cared for and given a sense of belonging. A society where the social, economic and physical environments are developed and protected to meet the needs of the Uruan people, while at the same time, strengthening relationships with interested stakeholders.
I make myself available to lead this CHANGE crusade in Uruan L.G.A. Come 2011.
Oye! Oye!! Oye!!! Bab Uruan!

Extreme poverty has many causes - adverse geography, poor and corrupt governance, conflicts and its aftermath, the lack of basic infrastructure and human capital, public administration, devastation by diseases and environmental degradation and limited natural resources. These causes have received global attention and prescription as in the MDGs, the seven point agenda, vision 2020-20 of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the pragmatic goals set by the Akpabio led administration in Akwa Ibom State to reduce poverty by 2015.
Uruan Local Government Area like many LGAs in Nigeria is caught up in the web of this devastaion gripe of poverty. As i aspire to take over the leadership of Uruan LGA in 2011, I am challenged to effect the changes recommended at the New York Summit and align it with the developmental aspirations of the people of Uruan. The Millenium Development Goals of the United Nations has set forth an 8 point agenda which are equally captured in the seven point agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria - whose priority policies are hinged on the following:

Uruan Local Government Area is among the few Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State that is highly endowed with both human, natural and material resources which could be harnessed to better the lot of all sons and daughters, even to generations yet unborn.
The vast agricultural land, the smooth flow of rivers, streams and springs, the glittering sandy beaches, the people and their age-long culture of hospitality, the season that runs its time, the rich variety of food making, dressings, and dances define a people with great blessings and potentials. The people have a cultural, social and economic heritage that spans hundreds of years especially across the continent of Europe, trading in fibre from our rich agricultural deposit. The people also harvest the sea, and are noted for fishing.
The infrastructural facilities like good road network, water, electricity, airport, the five star-Le Meridien Tourist Resort and Golf Course provided by the Government of Obong Godswill Obot Akpabio points a clear direction on tourism and a future guide to development plan in Uruan Local Government Area. This developmental paradigm fully enhanced will create employment for our teeming youths, generate revenue for government and also improve the socio- economic and cultural well-being of the people.
In spiting all of the above, unemployment with its numerous and unkind visages has a stronghold in Nigeria particularly in rural communities like Uruan. The trend of unemployment in Nigeria as in Uruan Local Government Area has been traced to the decline in entrepreneurship and craftsmanship. This decline potends a future depreciation in our resources as these resources are used unsustainably. The one and only approach to this failed state of affairs and decline is to introduce a change.
The administration of CHANGE in Uruan can not be over emphasized and this is the gap I have come to negotiate with the people to fill in the Uruan Local Government Council come 2011.
The change administration will facilitate the following;
